Manifesto Gallery of Contemporary Art

Galerija Manifesto was founded in 2021, and today it is a recognizable place that brings the community together through various art forms and cultural events.

From a nomadic gallery to a community space

Galerija Manifesto was founded by young cultural workers who wanted to create a space for the development of the contemporary art scene. Initially, it operated as a nomadic gallery, borrowing spaces from other institutions, but it very quickly found its permanent home and became a recognizable gathering place.

In addition to exhibitions showcasing various art forms – from paintings to spatial installations, Manifesto offers a rich program of musical performances, talks, lectures, and workshops.

Art that belongs to everyone:

  • Exhibitions

Through carefully curated exhibitions, the gallery brings together local and international artists, offering insight into current trends in contemporary art – from visual installations to experimental forms. Each exhibition opens a space for dialogue between artists and the public, inviting visitors to actively experience and interpret art in the context of the time we live in.

  • Performance:

Manifesto Gallery presents art that is not merely observed, but experienced, through performances. Through live, interactive forms of expression, artists explore the relationship between body, space, and audience, blurring the line between observer and participant. These performances open up space for direct emotion and personal experience, making each performance a unique encounter between art and the moment.

  • Conversations with Artists

Conversations with artists at Manifesto Gallery offer a unique opportunity to peek behind the exhibition itself and get to know the processes, ideas, and inspiration behind the artworks. Through open dialogue, visitors have the chance to ask questions, exchange opinions, and gain a deeper understanding of the context of contemporary art. These encounters create a direct connection between artists and the audience, transforming the gallery space into a place of lively conversation and exchange of ideas.

  • Contemporary Art

Contemporary art in Bosnia and Herzegovina develops through a strong fusion of local identity and global trends, often exploring social, cultural, and historical themes through new media and forms of expression. In this context, Manifesto Gallery represents an important space for the affirmation of such art in Sarajevo. As a platform for exhibition, dialogue, and experimentation, the gallery contributes to the development of the city's cultural scene and positions Sarajevo as a relevant point of contemporary artistic expression in the region.
